On the plains of Shinar, our ancestors wanted to make a name for themselves. They shared a common language and a common speech. They also shared a common goal. They wanted a tower and a name. So they set out to build a city with a tower that reached into the heavens, the home of the gods. This place would keep them safe and secure, give them peace and comfort. They would have all they wanted: a name and a unified community. They could settle down and forge a future for themselves. All it would take was some old fashioned hard work; making, baking, and stacking bricks. So this is what the people set out to accomplish…..
