Welcome to Our New Redesigned Website!

If you're reading this, that means you're looking at the brand new website that has been in the works for several weeks. I, Daniel, have been working on this website in collaboration with Pastor Hall and the rest of the church staff with the goal of putting my new web development skills to use to create a better looking, more organized, and more optimized website for the church. Here's a few of the many things that have changed.

If you've seen the old website before, you may notice that pretty much everything has changed. The styling is more modern, the text size is more reasonable, and the paper background texture was reused from the old website, but with a different texture. The navbar no longer uses dropdown menus. Instead, everything that used to live in those dropdowns now has its own place on the page it's linked to, which keeps the navbar feeling cleaner and easier to scan.

Most pages are based on the original site's content, just redesigned to be cleaner and better organized. Groups of small pages with related content have been merged into single pages, since it usually doesn't make sense to, for example, have an entire page that's 2 paragraphs and an image when there are other related pages that are about the same length. The Ministries nav item was the longest dropdown on the old website's navbar. The new Ministries page serves the same purpose, simply linking to all sub-pages relating to ministries.

As of the writing of this, the website is still in development (though, almost finished). However, there are also plans to significantly overhaul the Youth Life page.

While the church staff does have the ability to update content on the website (they even have a basic no-code custom page builder), I plan to continue improving this website every now and then whenever I have ideas. Any feedback on the website is appreciated, and we may make adjustments based on that feedback.
